ELEANOR’S STORY

Welcome to my story

Hello, I’m Eleanor.

I’m so glad you found your way here.

I opened my first little shop in 1994 in Monterey. It wasn’t much — just a small space with a few racks, a sewing table, and more hope than certainty. But it was mine.

I had spent years learning about fabrics, fits, and what truly makes a woman feel beautiful — not trendy, not loud — but comfortable and confident in her own skin.

Over time, I noticed something again and again: women of every shape and stage of life were simply looking for pieces that felt right. Clothes that flatter, feel light, and let you move through your day without constantly adjusting or wondering how they sit.

What began as a simple dream slowly grew into something far greater than I ever imagined.

And it all started with a love for timeless pieces — the kind you reach for again and again.

In the early 1980s, Eleanor began her journey with nothing more than a sewing machine, a small table, and a deep love for craftsmanship.

Even then, she believed clothing should do more than simply look beautiful — it should make women feel comfortable, confident, and at ease in their own skin.

What started as a quiet passion would grow into a lifetime devoted to timeless style designed for real women.

By the early 1990s, Eleanor opened her first small storefront in Monterey.
It wasn’t grand — but it was hers.
It was here that she began listening to women who often said the same thing: how difficult it was to find clothing that truly flattered their shape and made them feel confident.

With growth came new chapters — a larger space, careful logistics, and a growing community of women who trusted her designs.

Through it all, one thing never changed: Eleanor’s belief that clothing should make women feel comfortable, confident, and beautifully themselves — in every shape and season of life.

For over forty years, Eleanor has poured her heart into designing clothing that helps women feel comfortable, confident, and beautifully themselves. But after a challenging year, she has made the difficult decision to retire earlier than she ever hoped — and to close her boutique for good. With both a smile and a tear, she now says goodbye to the work that has meant so much to her… and to the women who have been part of this journey.

Before stepping away, she created her final collections — thoughtfully designed one last time for women of every shape and every season of life.

If you’ve just discovered Eleanor Rose, this is your chance to experience the pieces that women have loved for decades — before they’re gone forever.
